Following a customer contacting us 08/10/2024 interested in a all in one system we have produced this page to show the method and potential issues that may arise whilst going through the process, all images are owned by us and taken by our engineers and not stock images, any duplication without prior permission is strictly forbidden.
The process of quoting the job begins with customer supplying information regarding property installation and any existing renewables equipment.
following the initial consultation a quote is then generated and sent across to the customer. Upon approval of the quote, a LOA (letter of authority) is then submitted to the customer to authorise us as an agent in their behalf to contact and speak to the DNO.
Once the LOA is received we submit a submission G99 application to the DNO for permission to connect to the grid and any export limitations that they may implement. Each regional DNO has different processes and restrictions depending on their network capacity checks and the equipment in the area as well as localised generation already with the network in close proximity of the address where the application is being requested.
DNO Application submitted 06/11/2024
DNO requested additional information from us regarding the installation address however this was resolved quickly and DNO acceptance was issued on 24/12/2024.
installation booked 11/01/2025
equipment shipped to customer on the pallet network and arrived 10/01/2025
engineers attend site 11/01/2025 and install the equipment. The installation took around 5 hours, customer has an existing earth rod (TT) type of incoming earthing arrangement so upgrade of cable was required but not much else on the incoming supply side.
system upgraded regarding firmware and operational the same day. Due to the customer using us as an approved GiVEnergy installer their 5 year warranty was automatically extended to 12 years.
system runs a calibration test as our engineers return back to base in Somerset.
DNO notified of the system being installed via calibration and certification paperwork.
the customer has since been able to off peak charge his battery and offset the grid demand of their property during the day and has already seen huge savings on the incoming electricity bill and is seeing ROI (return of investment) already.
below is some pics of the installation.
