Description

Mains Switch RF is a novel RF solution for connecting devices where live cabling is inconvenient or impossible. It’s a hassle-free alternative to running cables. Commonly used for boiler pump overrun in the heating industry, Mains Switch can also be used as a solution for other internal switch live wire and cable replacement issues.

The package contains a transmitter and a receiver with convenient mounting brackets.

How does Mains Switch RF work?
The transmitter keeps looking for 230V AC input. When an input is detected, an RF “on” signal is transmitted to the receiver and repeated every 5 seconds. The transmitter keeps broadcasting pairing code every 5 seconds until 60 second timeout.

The receiver keeps listening for the RF on/off signal. The pump (or any other device) will switch on when an RF on signal is received.

Product Compliance
Mains Switch RF complies with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions of EU Directives 2014/53/EU and 2011/65/EU

Its RF communication is carried out over 868.0 – 868.6 MHz, <13dBm. It has a range of 100 meters in open space and 35 meters indoor depending on the layout.

Install with confidence: Mains Switch comes with a 5-year warranty!

Application
In plumbing, Mains Switch is mainly used as a transmitter/receiver pairing for managing boiler pump overrun where cabling is inconvenient. The RF device has many other applications. You can use it in various home and business situations where it’s important for two devices to communicate such as remote light switch and others. There are plenty of applications in Smart Home environment and elsewhere.

What is pump overrun?
Combi boilers have pump overrun built in with separate circuits for hot water and heating. Regular boilers don’t have this functionality, so they need a method for continuing water circulation after the demand has finished. Otherwise the water that’s inside the heat exchanger will reach boiling temperature or at least reach high temperature leading to excessive scale formation. Having a system in place that helps cool it down will prolong the working life of your boiler.
